Position Summary

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy and performance of the organization, primarily Bridgespans Asia and Africa offices. This position will be responsible for leading financial planning for the organization including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis. The Manager, FP&A will work closely with cross-functional and cross-geographic teams to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making. This role will report into the Associate Director, FP&A based in the Eastern time zone in North America and will have no direct reports.

Responsibilities and Duties

Financial Planning and Reporting (85%):

- Serve as key contributor in the development of annual budgets, multi-year financial forecasts, and scenario planning to support the organization&aposs strategic initiatives and long-term goals.
- Lead the annual budget process for Bridgespan Asia and Africa offices.
- Participate in preparation of budget templates for annual budgeting process.
- Lead key stakeholder budget meetings.
- Assist Director of Global FP&A and Associate Director, FP&A in preparation of board materials.
- Provide support to the Global Accounting team in performing monthly close of financial books and preparing various reports for management.
- Review budget to actuals data to ensure accuracy and recommend reclasses where necessary.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual budget to actual reports and report to the leadership team.
- Prepare grant budgets
- Track and prepare grant reports as outlined in the grant agreements.
- Complete ad-hoc deep-dive analyses and provide actionable insights to guide decision making.

Systems and Process Improvements (15%):

- Serve as key stakeholder in the design, implementation, testing and rollout of the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system.
- Recommend improvements to the budgeting process as necessary.
- Proactively identify opportunities for financial process improvement

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent years of work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant FP&A experience (NGO/social sector experience is an added advantage)
- Familiarity with standard accounting principles
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools, including Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge or other accounting software
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems a plus, particularly in a multi-geographic context
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and appropriately prioritize tasks as necessary
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact with colleagues and clients at all levels within an organization
- High degree of professional maturity, tact, and confidentiality required given access to confidential information and contact with Bridgespan leadership

Location and Remote Work Flexibility

All Bridgespanners joining in Mumbai are expected to work in the Bridgespan Mumbai office at least 3 days per week. This policy is designed to offer meaningful opportunity for in-person relationship building and mentorship, while also offering staff considerable flexibility.
