Job Description Key Responsibilities Cloud Security Operations - Monitor, analyse, and respond to security alerts and incidents within AWS environments using services such as Security Hub, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch. - Manage and maintain AWS-native security controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies and best practices. - Investigate and resolve security issues related to AWS workloads, VPC configurations, EC2 instances, and IAM policies. Configuration & Implementation - Configure and manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions boundaries to enforce the principle of least privilege. - Implement and optimize network security controls including Security Groups, NACLs, VPNs, to ensure secure connectivity. - Deploy and manage AWS WAF, Shield, and Inspector to enhance threat prevention and vulnerability management. Incident Response & Threat Management - Participate in incident response activities, including triage, containment, and remediation of AWS-related security incidents. - Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document findings with recommendations for continuous improvement. - Correlate security events using SIEM tools (e.g., QRadar, Splunk) for enhanced visibility and threat detection. Vulnerability & Compliance Management - Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Amazon Inspector, Config Rules, and System Manager Patch Manager. - Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to remediate findings and ensure compliance with standards such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, and ISO 27001. - Continuously assess the AWS environment to detect misconfigurations and enforce security baselines. Automation & Continuous Improvement - Develop and maintain security automation workflows using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, and CloudFormation to streamline remediation and reporting. - Contribute to improving incident response playbooks, runbooks, and security operations processes. Collaboration & Reporting - Work closely with Security Operations teams to enhance overall AWS cloud security posture. - Provide periodic reports on cloud security findings, incidents, and vulnerability status to stakeholders. - Assist in internal and external security audits and maintain documentation of implemented controls. Preferred Skills & Tools. - AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, AWS IAM, Config, CloudTrail - AWS Organizations, CloudWatch Events, SNS, EventBridge, QRadar, SIEM, SOC. - IAM Access Analyzer, AWS Secrets Manager, Systems Manager Patch Manager - Experience with compliance standards (CIS Benchmarks, NIST, and ISO 27001.) - CrowdStrike or equivalent EDR/XDR solutions - Exposure to multi-cloud security (Azure or GCP) will be considered an added advantage.
