Job Description

- Design and implement observability solutions to monitor IT systems and applications effectively.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring requirements and ensure system reliability.

- Optimise existing monitoring tools and processes to improve system performance and reduce downtime.

- Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and visualisations to track key performance metrics.

- Analyse system logs and telemetry data to identify and troubleshoot issues proactively.

- Participate in incident management and post-incident reviews to enhance observability practices.

- Stay updated with the latest observability tools and technologies to drive continuous improvement.

- Provide technical support and training to teams on observability tools and best practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful IT Observability Engineer should have:

- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar technologies.

- Strong understanding of system monitoring, logging, and telemetry practices.

- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Shell, or similar.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerisation technologies.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving system issues.
