Software EngineerResponsibilities:-Excellent troubleshooting and debugging, and documentation skillsExperience with RESTful backend developmentIndependent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidanceResourceful and able to solve complex problems through practical use of technology and a thorough understanding of product architectureStrong teammate comfortable working with geographically distributed and cross-functional teamsExcellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skillsDesign and implementation of web applications for the Vocera platformCollaborate with backend developers to define flexible, maintainable, APIsCollaborate with UI/UX designer to create usable, role-based UIâsPartner with the product owner and key internal partners to define product requirementsDeploy sound engineering practices utilizing Agile development methodologiesCollaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure features perform to Vocera and customer quality standardsBuild unit and functional tests and follow design and coding guidelines, participate in peer reviewsRequirements:-Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalentFamiliarity with modern front-end frameworks and technologies: Angular, RxJs, Karma/Jasmine for unit testingFamiliarity with backend development: Java EE, JUnit, Linux, Postgres, GraphQL, Rails, ApacheDevelopment experienceStrong knowledge of web fundamentals; HTML, CSS, JavaScriptProven Experience with Agile development methodologies and tooling: GIT, code review processes, AgileUp to 5% domestic and/or international travel to customer sites as neededProof of full COVID-19 vaccination requiredCompetencies:-Ability to design, build, deliver, and support scalable and highly available enterprise solutionsHands-on approach to the full software development process from architecture to implementationDemonstrated passion to build great software systems in the right wayExperience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
