Job Description Job Description: The qualified individual will join a team to provide L3 System Admin Infrastructure support for fixed income information and analytics products. This team is responsible for enabling the core infrastructure for fixed income reference data, used by internal and external LSEG content clients worldwide. The candidate will be coordinating with teams from multiple locations including USA, Beijing, and Bangalore. Day to Day Responsibilities: - Position is a System Support engineer in the Unix environment. - Primary skills used will be Unix, Linux, Bash, Shell and System Administration - Candidate will perform a wide array of tasks: support of AutoSys automated jobs, data entry web pages and automated data feeds; critical issue and solve of system-wide outages and urgent problems; answering data analyst and business group questions; performing bugfixes; helping to prototype new systems on new hardware. - Position includes full support (including monitoring) of our test and pre-production environments, and as-needed on-call support of production and disaster recovery environments that are supervised by operations staff. - This position is not an operations position and entails some light development, solve, manual fixes, and debugging. - All communication is performed through tickets, and the support engineer will be part of a small team performing this function. - Support engineer will also be encouraged to supervise ongoing problems, come up with potential solutions for them, automate repetitive or manual tasks, participate in post-mortem discussions, and build tools that make support easier and lessen the risk of future service outages. Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field experience. Required Skills: - 6+ years Unix & Linux Administration work experience and be proficient on automation using one of the scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl) - Strong solid grasp on Unix operating systems (e.g., Solaris & Linux). - Hands on experience of backend system test build and implementation. - 6 + years of hands-on experience Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations - Good at OS Boot Issues: Solve OS boot-related issues. - Hands on Experience with Autosys, including installing the scheduler (Primary, Shadow & Tiebreaker) and maintaining high availability. - Review and analyse requirements, specifications, and technical build documents, providing the test plan timely - Familiarity with Linux/Unix platform, backend system, web application servers - Familiar with Agile quality assurance process and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence etc.). - Good at handling File System Issues: Handle file system-related issues. - On-Call Support: Provide support in an on-call rotation in a 24x7 environment. - Prior Cloud experience will be an added advantage (Preferably Azure) Desired Skills - Solid grasp of Unix operating systems (e.g., Solaris & Linux). - Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl). - Familiarity with networking protocols and server security mechanisms. - Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle various tasks. - Knowledge on Autosys and Cloud would be an added advantage.
