Job Description Project Head (C&I Solar EPC)

Position: Project Head Commercial & Industrial Solar EPC

Location: Bangalore.

Reporting To: COO / Head of Projects

Team Reporting

- Project Managers
- Safety & Quality Engineers (shared resources)
- Vendors & subcontractors

Role Objective

To lead and deliver C&I solar EPC projects worth 50 Cr annually, ensuring timely, cost-efficient, safe, and quality project execution while maintaining client satisfaction and building a robust on-ground team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

- Prepare detailed project schedules, resource plans, and execution methodologies.
- Oversee day-to-day execution of rooftop and small ground-mounted projects.
- Coordinate with design/engineering for final drawings and approvals.
- Ensure procurement aligns with site timelines.

2. Financial & Commercial Control

- Deliver projects within agreed budgets and track cost vs. estimates.
- Support project billing, certification, and timely collections.
- Manage subcontractor/vendor payments within project financials.

3. Team Leadership

- Manage a small team of engineers and supervisors across multiple sites.
- Mentor team on quality, safety, and client engagement.
- Build a strong subcontractor/vendor network in the industrial belt.

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Act as the single point of contact for clients during execution.
- Conduct regular client meetings, progress reviews, and site visits.
- Ensure smooth handover, testing, and commissioning.

5. Governance & Compliance

- Implement safety protocols and statutory norms (CEA, DISCOM approvals, labor laws).
- Ensure quality standards and documentation compliance.
- Track KPIs for project health (progress vs. schedule, cost variance, client satisfaction).

Desired Profile

- Education: B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Mechanical / Civil.

- Experience:
- 812 years total, with 57 years in solar EPC / infra execution.
- Demonstrated ability to handle projects worth 1015 Cr individually or cumulative 50 Cr portfolio annually.

- Skills:
- Strong execution and site management.
- Vendor/subcontractor management.
- Budget & cost control.
- Proficiency in MS Project/Primavera, AutoCAD, ERP tools.
- Good communication and client-facing skills.

Performance Metrics (KPIs)

- % Projects delivered on time.
- Planned vs. actual cost variance.
- Client satisfaction and repeat orders.
- Safety & quality compliance.
- Billing & collection cycle efficiency.

Compensation Range (Indicative)

- Fixed CTC: Commensurate with Industry Standard; depending on experience and network
- Variable: % linked to project profitability & on-time delivery
- Perks: Company travel, insurance, allowances
