Job Summary The Fashion Merchandiser will act as the key link between design, production, and international buyers, ensuring that seasonal collections are developed, priced, and delivered in line with buyer expectations and timelines. This role demands strong aesthetic sense, attention to detail, and understanding of global resort wear trends. Key Responsibilities - Buyer Communication: Coordinate directly with international buyers for product development, costing, sampling, and approvals. - Product Development: Work closely with the design and sampling teams to translate buyer mood boards and tech packs into final samples. - Trend & Fabric Research: Support seasonal trend research with a focus on resort and vacation wear; source and develop fabrics, trims, and surface techniques accordingly. - Costing & Pricing: Prepare cost sheets, negotiate prices, and ensure target margins are achieved. - Production Coordination: Follow up with production teams for order status, quality checks, timelines, and shipment schedules. - T&A Management: Create and manage Time & Action calendars for all styles and ensure on-time execution. - Documentation: Handle order confirmations, POs, and sample trackers to maintain complete visibility of ongoing styles. - Market Awareness: Stay updated with global trends, silhouettes, and consumer preferences in women’s resort wear. Required Skills & Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Production, or Textile Design. - 3–7 years of experience in merchandising for women’s apparel (preferably in export/resort wear segment). - Excellent understanding of fabrics, trims, surface embellishments, and garment construction. - Strong communication and presentation skills for dealing with overseas buyers. - Proficiency in Excel, Illustrator, and basic PLM or ERP systems. - Ability to manage multiple styles and clients simultaneously under tight deadlines. - Detail-oriented with a strong sense of fashion aesthetics and color balance. Preferred Attributes - Experience working with premium resort or contemporary women’s brands in the US/EU markets. - Knowledge of sustainable fabrics and ethical sourcing practices. - Energetic, organized, and a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced export environment.
