Primary standardized title: Java Backend Developer About The Opportunity We are hiring an on-site Java Backend Developer in India to join a high-velocity engineering team focused on designing, developing, and operating mission-critical backend services. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building resilient APIs, optimizing database interactions, and contributing to engineering excellence in an Agile environment. Role & Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain scalable Java backend services using Spring Boot and related frameworks. - Build and consume RESTful APIs; ensure performance, security and backwards compatibility for integrations. - Implement persistence layers using Hibernate/JPA and optimise SQL queries for high-throughput systems. - Write unit and integration tests; participate in CI/CD pipelines and automated build workflows (Maven/Gradle). - Diagnose and resolve production issuesprofiling, logging, and performance tuning to meet SLA targets. - Collaborate with product, QA and DevOps teams; participate in code reviews, design discussions and sprint ceremonies. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have - Java - Spring Boot - RESTful APIs - Hibernate - SQL - Git - Maven - JUnit Preferred - Docker - Microservices architecture - AWS Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent preferred. - 3+ years of professional experience in Java backend development (or equivalent demonstrable experience). - Practical experience working in Agile teams, with exposure to CI/CD, code reviews and production support. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to code quality and a focus on operational excellence.
