We have a wide variety of career opportunities around the world come find yours Job overview and responsibilitiesThe team is looking for a skilled and innovative Data scientist who can assist in building data science capability within the team The person should be a highly motivated detail-oriented data scientist with a passion for prescriptive analytics an eye for detail and the ability to assess the big picture He She will drive data-driven insights for optimizing B2B sales performance and chart strategic B2B contract elements and discounts An in-depth understanding of modeling techniques and the ability to perform in a team as well as an individual is paramount to success in this role The person must have the experience to be able to extract insights from large volumes of data and communicate relevant triggers and recommendations Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders in the US and around the world as well as familiarizing oneself with United s and the Sales department s primary objectives are essential This role will require technical expertise innovation thoroughness and a desire to learn and grow with the team Execute solutions to business problems using data analysis data mining optimization tools statistical modeling and machine learning techniques Build and scale foundations for data science within the team and help train other data analyst on best practices while staying up to date on ML advances Strong modeling skills and comfort in owning data and working from concept through to execution Understand a business problem and the available data and identify what analytics and modeling techniques can be applied to answer a business question Continuously develop and demonstrate improved analysis methodologies Establish relationships between different Sales offerings by United and their influence on B2B contracting and spend This position is offered on local terms and conditions Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas even on a time-limited visa status will not be awarded This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc QualificationsRequired Bachelor s degree in Data Science Math Statistics Economics or related field At least 2 years of related experience in Data science Machine learning Deep understanding of data structures relationships and efficient transformations Familiarity with all parts of the data ecosystem acquisition engineering storage management analysis visualization and model deployment and monitoring Fluent skill in Python Pyspark Be experienced in manipulating and analyzing complex high-volume high-dimensionality data from various sources to highlight patterns and relationships Understanding of how and when to apply predictive and machine learning techniques like logistic regression random forest GBM Neural Nets SVM etc Be proficient in using database querying tools and able to write complex queries and procedures using Teradata SQL and or Microsoft TSQL Being able to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear precise and actionable manner Exhibit written and spoken English fluency Preferred Being able to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear precise and actionable manner Experience in project leadership Experience with anomaly detection imbalanced classification and time series analysis Experience working in Aviation Transportation or Hospitality industry United Airlines
