SAP CAP Developer

Job Description We are seeking a skilled SAP CAP Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of enterprise-grade applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The role involves backend development using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) with Node.js and TypeScript, as well as frontend development using Fiori Elements and SAP UI5 (freestyle). Key Responsibilities - Develop backend services using SAP CAP with Node.js and TypeScript - Define data models using CDS and expose services via OData V4 - Implement custom logic and extensions beyond standard CAP features - Integrate with external systems via REST, OData, and other APIs - Build user interfaces using both Fiori Elements and freestyle SAP UI5 - Develop and maintain multilingual, versioned, and workflow-enabled applications - Collaborate closely with functional and technical teams to clarify requirements, deliver backlog items, and ensure high-quality outcomes - Provide consulting guidance to stakeholders on solution design within the CAP framework, avoiding unnecessary complexity and promoting sustainable architectures - Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement processes - Deploy and operate applications on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry or Kyma) Required Skills & Qualifications - Solid hands-on experience with SAP CAP using Node.js runtime - Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js - Deep understanding of CDS modeling, OData services, and CAP extensibility - Strong experience with SAP UI5 (freestyle) and Fiori Elements - Experience integrating APIs and working with external systems - Familiarity with SAP BTP development environments and deployment pipelines - Consulting mindset: ability to advise stakeholders and design maintainable solutions - Working knowledge of Git, agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and DevOps basics Nice to Have - CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) - Test automation experience (e.g., Jest, Cypress) - Knowledge of SAP authorization mechanisms (XSUAA, OAuth2) - Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) - UX know-how and theming in SAP UI5 Soft Skills - Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving - Clear and proactive communication - Collaborative mindset with consulting experience - Fluency in English Experience required: - 5+ years of professional experience in SAP development, with proven hands-on experience in SAP CAP (Node.js), TypeScript, and SAP UI5/Fiori. Proficient in English is a mandatory requirement.
