About the Position We are seeking a dynamic Technical Application Scientist- II to serve as the key liaison between our NGSdiagnostics laboratory and external stakeholders, including clinicians, sales team, and customers. The role requires strong scientific knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to represent and convey the decisions of the lab leadership team to the medical and clinical community. The candidate will work closely with laboratory scientists and the Lab Head to ensure consistent, accurate, and clinically meaningful communication regarding NGS-based diagnostic tests. Key Responsibilities: TAT Management and Communication ● Track all ongoing samples and ensure reporting is completed within the committed Turnaround Time (TAT) ● Proactively monitor workflow progress with the laboratory team to identify potential delays. ● Communicate any anticipated delays to clinicians in advance, with clear reasons and revised timelines. ● Gather any additional clinical or technical information required during the reporting process and ensure it reaches the lab team promptly. ● Maintain transparency with stakeholders by providing regular status updates on pending reports. Clinician & Customer Engagement ● Act as the primary point of contact for clinicians/ sales and clients regarding NGS diagnostic tests. ● Provide pre-test support on test selection, sample requirements, and assay applicability. ● Communicate laboratory decisions from the Lab Head to clinicians in a clear and clinically relevant manner. ● Stay updated on advances in NGS and oncology/genetic diagnostics to provide up-to-date knowledge to stakeholders. Cross-functional Collaboration ● Work closely with laboratory scientists to understand workflow decisions and troubleshooting outcomes. ● Capture clinician feedback and relay it back to the laboratory leadership to support continuous improvement. ● Maintain records of all external interactions to support compliance and quality audits. ● Ensure all scientific communication aligns with CAP/NABL standards and internal quality policies. Qualification: Master’s or PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Genomics, or related life sciences field. Experience: ● 2–5 years in clinical genomics, molecular diagnostics, or NGS-based testing. ● Prior experience in customer/clinician-facing roles (Technical Application Specialist, Clinical Liaison, or Medical Science Liaison) preferred. Skills: ● Strong understanding of NGS workflows (DNA/RNA extraction, library prep, sequencing, QC, variant reporting). ● Ability to explain complex genomic data in a clear, concise, and clinically meaningful manner. ● Excellent presentation and scientific communication skills (written and verbal). ● High level of professionalism, empathy, and customer service orientation. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): ● Timely and accurate communication of lab results and decisions. ● Clinician satisfaction and confidence in test-related support. ● Number and quality of clinician training sessions conducted. Effective feedback loop between clinicians and the laboratory. ● Contribution to stronger adoption and trust in NGS testing services.
