Title Lead Engineer - IT Applications IBM Spectrum LSF Load Sharing Facility About GlobalFoundries GlobalFoundries is a leading full-service semiconductor foundry providing a unique combination of design development and fabrication services to some of the world s most inspired technology companies With a global manufacturing footprint spanning three continents GlobalFoundries makes possible the technologies and systems that transform industries and give customers the power to shape their markets For more information visit www gf com Introduction We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Architect with deep expertise in IBM Spectrum LSF Load Sharing Facility to design implement and optimize high-performance computing HPC environments The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping our compute infrastructure strategy ensuring scalability reliability and performance for complex workloads across diverse environments Your Job Design and architect scalable HPC solutions using IBM Spectrum LSF Lead the implementation and configuration of LSF clusters including job scheduling resource management and workload optimization Collaborate with cross-functional teams DevOps Data Science Engineering to align infrastructure with business and technical requirements Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cluster management and job orchestration Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and ensure high availability and fault tolerance Evaluate and integrate complementary technologies e g IBM Spectrum Scale cloud-based HPC container orchestration Document architecture designs operational procedures and best practices Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and administrators Lead the Technical design process for features and platforms that require architecture changes during the delivery lifecycle Required Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field 10- 12 years of experience in IT architecture or systems engineering roles Knowledge in containerization and virtualization of apps services Security encryption and compliance standards in AWS Experience in writing technical documentation for systems design architecture specifications Understanding cloud deployment models public private hybrid cloud service models IaaS PaaS SaaS and the benefits of cloud computing Knowledge of DevOps principles and tools for automation and deployment 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum LSF in production environments Strong understanding of HPC concepts job scheduling and workload management Proficiency in Linux Unix systems administration and shell scripting Experience with automation tools e g Ansible Terraform Python Familiarity with cloud platforms AWS Azure or GCP and hybrid HPC deployments Be able to collaborate with program and technical design leads on multiple concurrent projects Should have excellent problem-solving skills written oral communication teaming interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field 5 years of experience in IT architecture or systems engineering roles 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum LSF in production environments Strong understanding of HPC concepts job scheduling and workload management Proficiency in Linux Unix systems administration and shell scripting Experience with automation tools e g Ansible Terraform Python Knowledge working with Semi-conductor domain Fabless or Foundry is an added plus GlobalFoundries is an equal opportunity employer cultivating a diverse and inclusive workforce We believe having a multicultural workplace enhances productivity efficiency and innovation whilst our employees feel truly respected valued and heard As an affirmative employer all qualified applicants are considered for employment regardless of age ethnicity marital status citizenship race religion political affiliation gender sexual orientation and medical and or physical abilities All offers of employment with GlobalFoundries are conditioned upon the successful completion of background checks medical screenings as applicable and subject to the respective local laws and regulations Information about our benefits you can find here
