**Job Purpose**:
Execute mechanical maintenance of the plant and preventive maintenance related activities so as to achieve smooth operation of the plant.

Job Context

Birla carbon unit Renukoot established in 1988 with capacity of 20000 TPA to cater the need of Tyre Industry and to supply steam to Hindalco & subsequently capacity increased to 60000 TPA in 1993 and subsequently increased to 70000 TPA in 00-01 by debottlenecking. The unit has obtained ISO/TS16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, IQMM level-7 and TPM excellence award. Mechanical department role is to maintain trouble free running of all mechanical equipment in the plant utilizing limited available resources for materials and expect services due to remote location and also within stringent breakdown and maintenance cost targets. Department has to comply all the different standards of quality, safety and environment adopted by the unit.

Major Challenges:
The job require knowledge and experience of maintenance practices to keep the down time of plant within maximum budgeted breakdown period of 0.17%. Job requires knowledge and experience in execution of mechanical maintenance related job to meet maintenance planning. Maintain inventory of equipment spares in mechanical workshop to meet emergency requirement.

- KRA1- Mechanical maintenance execution of mechanical activities to achieve maximum availability of plant and machinery- '¢ Execute preventive, shutdown and break down activities.
'¢ Allocation of manpower for preventive and predictive maintenance jobs as per planning
'¢ Execute rector and forklift maintenance execute DG maintenance
'¢ Proper utilization of spares and control wastage of spares during mechanical maintenance utilization of man power for preventive, breakdown, shutdown and modification job
'¢ Maintain cleanliness of entire plant to improve better house keeping- KRA2- System Management Compliance of quality management system to perform quality maintenance.- '¢ Implementation of ISO/TS procedure and work instruction to be followed related to mechanical maintenance.- KRA3- Spare parts management : Initiate procurement action for spares required for maintenance activities to ensure availability of spare- '¢ Maintain and review spares for plant equipment and forklift for uninterrupted work during maintenance.

'¢ Eliminate wastage of material during maintenance activities.
'¢ Maintain spares for critical equipment at mechanical workshop to meet odd time requirement.- KRA4- Safety implement safety procedure and legal compliance to create safe working environment- '¢ Follow OSH:18001 related to mechanical maintenance at shop floor.
'¢ Implementation of safety procedure during maintenance activities through task observation of critical jobs. Check utilization of PPEs at shop floor.
'¢ Imparting on job safety training- KRA5- Training and development participate in teams through various initiatives to raise competency level.- '¢ Participation in QC,KSS,5G activities and department meeting
'¢ Imparting training on job training for preventive maintenance of various equipments

'¢ Organize planned shutdown maintenance of equipment to ensure the activities done to comply preventive and predictive maintenance without slippage.- KRA7- Energy Management System- Observing compliance with Energy Policy and objectives, Energy Efficiency / Energy Performance / Continual Improvement Indicators, Legal & Other requirements including Control Over Service Providers and assistance in Energy Efficient Procurement.

2.Reviewing Energy Consumption Data and trends
3.Reviewing the Facilities, Equipments, Systems and Processes on periodic basis.
4.Ensuring optimal consumption of energy in any form and prevention of leaks / spills / losses.
5.Identifying Competence, Training and awareness needs required for Tasks, Job Descriptions, Compliance with Legal and Other requirements, Operational Controls.
6.Ensuring effective Consultation / Communication with Employees and Contractors on energy uses and requirements of EnMS.
7.Ensuring document control including distribution control of External Origin documents.
8.Ensuring Operational Controls related to likely Failures leading to contingencies and emergencies pertaining to EnMS and other EnMS Practices.
