**Job Description: Fire Technician**

**Position Overview**: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Fire Technician to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and functionality of fire protection and detection systems. The Fire Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and servicing fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other fire safety equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of occupants.

**Responsibilities**:
**Inspection and Testing**:

- Conduct regular inspections of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
- Perform testing and simulations to ensure that systems activate and respond appropriately in the event of a fire or emergency.

**Maintenance and Repairs**:

- Carry out routine maintenance tasks on fire protection equipment, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
- Identify and address any malfunctions, defects, or damage, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.

**Installation and Upgrades**:

- Assist in the installation, setup, and configuration of new fire protection systems, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and local codes.
- Upgrade and retrofit existing systems with newer components and technologies as needed.

**Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, testing outcomes, maintenance activities, and repairs performed.
- Generate detailed reports for clients, management, and regulatory authorities as required.

**Code Compliance**:

- Stay current with local, state, and national fire safety codes and regulations.
- Ensure that all installations and maintenance activities meet or exceed relevant standards.

**Emergency Response**:

- Respond promptly to emergency service calls, troubleshoot issues, and restore functionality to fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with emergency services personnel during actual emergencies.

**Customer Interaction**:

- Communicate effectively with clients, building owners, and property managers to explain the status of systems, provide recommendations, and address concerns.

**Training**:

- Provide training and guidance to building occupants on the proper use of fire safety equipment and evacuation procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Additional technical training or certifications in fire protection systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fire Technician or in a related field.
- Strong understanding of fire detection and suppression systems, including alarms, sprinklers, smoke detectors, and control panels.
- Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience with testing equipment and tools used in fire system inspections.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with fire protection equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, often in time-sensitive situations.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and perform tasks at various heights.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
