The Electrical Architect defines the structure of the subsystem that is to be developed, based upon customer requirements/product specifications and technology trends. He/She defines the way in which the subsystem has to be divided into separate components and/or modules.

The Electrical Architect also formulates the technical roadmap for his/her subsystem, conducts PRP studies and/or innovation studies, and leads the introduction of new technologies.

Jobholder comes to an understanding with software development concerning the hardware/mechanical and software interfaces and other development architects concerning interfaces.

By means of planned reviews he/she ensures - from technical point of view - that the efforts of the individual developers remain focused on properly functioning subsystems.

The Electrical Architect is technically responsible for the correct functioning of the integrated subsystems.

**You are responsible for**

1. Responsible for the creation of the electrical architecture in modular, easy to

maintain and extendible (components and modules) and re-usable.

2. The Electrical architect would ensure that the proposed architecture would

have the safety and reliability features build in.

3. The Electrical architect is responsible for ensuring that architecture meets

the performance criteria.

4. Formulates the technical roadmap, relevant for his/her subsystem consider

6. Technically responsible for the subsystem in (sub-) projects. Delegate, con

trol and verify that the RF electronics is build according to his/her architec

ture. Verifies that the integration is according to the architecture.

7. Ensures the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate

components in modular, easy-to-maintain electronics that meets the product

specification.

8. Guides the Electrical Engineers & Designers in the design and implementa

tion of the parts of a subsystem.

9. Participates in the RF Coil architecture definition and in the Product

Requirement Specification, advises the System Architect regarding choices

of what must be achieved in hardware and what in software (multidisci

plinary) and advises on make-or-buy decisions.

10. Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of

his/her area. Draws up personal schedule and reports on progress.

13. Advises on internal development or outsourcing.

14. Managing R&D relationships with Engineering service suppliers.

15. Supervising design activities at the design partner, participating in design

reviews and risk assessments (e.g. FMEA) and monitoring (technical)

progress and technical risk mitigation.

16. Has an important say in the choice of development environment and has ul

timate responsibility for the top-level design.

17. Networks with colleagues within BU and beyond and maintains external

contacts for benchmarking, new technologies, tooling, design methods,

and reflects them to the group.

18. Ability to create an environment to ensure maximized engagement of the

department employees is abreast of / participates in standards identifica

tion responsible for designing.

19. Formulates improvements within his/her own domain of expertise such as

technical and process improvements etc.

20. Acts in line with departmental and project processes (QMS).
