- About this role- As our Product Designer, you will lead a team of talented product designers in our Web & App capability team. The designers are passionate about visual design language, systems thinking, and continuously evolving the experience for the hundreds of designers and developers across BT Consumer Digital.
- A core focus is the design systems team, led by a Product Owner and includes product designers, content designers, Flutter & React developers. Alongside leading the product
- designers, you’ll be the voice of the design systems team in the design community and vice versa. An advocate for the design system, providing support to the design community through regular two-way feedback and consistent and targeted communication, with a focus on how we make the design system even better.- Responsibilities**Coaching and leadership**
- Lead a team of talented product designers.
- Responsible for fostering and growing design talent, ensuring they have everything they need to do their jobs effectively and enjoyably.

**Design System**
- Support the design system Product Owner in the implementation and adoption of our design system.
- Identify training requirements and find solutions for training that meet the needs of the design community to succeed in working with the design system
- Work with engineering peers to establish community libraries that support the growth of the design system through ongoing contribution
- Work collaboratively alongside product and engineering peers to influence the design systems strategy.
- Be a design system advocate, being present and responsive in our communities, responding to their needs and establishing reliable feedback loops with our design systems users
- Provide clarity and guidance for design system users, defining ways of working in the current and future design system world.
- Partner with product to develop comprehensive communication strategies for design system engagement

**Community**
- Build & maintain relationships with your peers across product, engineering and design
- Facilitate strong cross functional partnership with the ability to bridge design and development.

**Best practices, operating procedures, and software toolset**
- Lead the onboarding and ongoing management of new and contract renewal of existing product design vendors, tools and platforms
- Contribute to the design playbook, a single source of information for designers across BT Consumer digital
