**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Safely operate a school van, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations at all times.
- Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the van, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained van, including regular cleaning and maintenance checks.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students regarding transportation schedules and any changes or delays.
- Follow established procedures for handling emergencies or incidents during transportation, including contacting appropriate authorities as needed.
- Ensure the safety and security of students during transportation, including the proper use of seat belts and other safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of daily routes, mileage, and passenger counts.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required by the school or transportation department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or school administration.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving a passenger van or similar vehicle preferred.
- Excellent driving skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations, with a focus on problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Flexibility to work mornings and afternoons, including occasional evenings or weekends for school events or activities.
