**Fitter** (Mechanical Maintenance)

**Industry**: Fertilizer (Chemical Processing)

**Job Summary**:
As a Fitter in the fertilizer industry, you will be responsible for:
1. Installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment, piping systems, and machinery.

2. Ensuring equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.

3. Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.

4. Collaborating with other maintenance teams (electrical, instrumentation) to resolve issues.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Maintenance and repair of:

- Pumps, compressors, valves, and gearboxes.
- Pipework, fittings, and flanges.
- Mechanical seals and gaskets.
- Conveyors, crushers, and other mechanical equipment.

2. Inspection and testing of equipment.

3. Troubleshooting and fault-finding.

4. Execution of planned maintenance schedules.

5. Assisting in shutdown maintenance and project work.

6. Compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

7. Documentation of maintenance activities.

**Requirements**:
1. ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification in Fitter/Mechanical trade.

2. 2-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the fertilizer or chemical processing industry.

3. Knowledge of mechanical principles, piping systems, and equipment.

4. Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations.

5. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights.

6. Good communication and teamwork skills.

**Skills**:
1. Mechanical aptitude.

2. Problem-solving and analytical skills.

3. Knowledge of maintenance management software.

4. Welding and fabrication skills (desirable).

5. Familiarity with industry-specific standards (e.g., ASME, API).

**Working Conditions**:
1. Plant environment with exposure to chemicals, noise, and heat.

2. Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

3. Physical demands, including lifting, bending, and climbing.

**Salary Range (India)**:
₹2.5 - ₹4.0 lakhs per annum (depending on experience and location)

**Age Limit**: 25 years to 45 years

**Experience**: 4 to 8 years

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
