Position Description:
We are seeking a L2 VMware Administrator to join our VMware Virtualization Operations/DevOps team to manage/support our VMware virtualization environment globally. This position is in the operational team working in shift model and managing with the engineering team our worldwide virtualization environment. Collaborating with different IT and business groups to manage the work queues for incident, changes, requests and problems tickets. The position requires fundamentals knowledge of Server like Dell, HP and Cisco. VMware ESX, vSphere, vSAN, VCF and related technologies. Knowledge about Cloud Director, NSX, vRealize Suite is a plus.

Specific Responsibilities:

- Manage the VMware virtualization queue for incidents, problems, changes, tasks, and requests and ensure workload is effectively managed; prioritize and respond to tickets as appropriate.
- Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of VMware systems.
- Maintain, monitor, and patch the VMware virtualization environment and related services.
- Plan and implement upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches systems.
- Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
- Recommend and execute modifications to server and VMware environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Create required reports in response to business user needs.
- Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and tasks.
- Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
- Responsible to create and review product documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain system documentation up to date.
- Maintain the backlogs and current work items in Azure DevOps.
- Participate on P1/P2 calls on helping to resolve the issues.
- Applies all QA Procedures as assigned

Educational requirements: Degree in computer science or equivalent desirable

Preferred Certifications: Any one from below is a plus point
- VMware VCP 7/8 certification
- VMware VSAN certification or training accomplished
- VMware VCF certifications or trainings accomplished
- VMware NSX certifications or trainings accomplished

Number of years related experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge: Things incumbent needs TO KNOW to successfully perform on the job
- Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with Vmware technology and releated technology.
- VMware vSphere/ESXi 7/8, NSX, Storage VSAN, NAS, SAN Windows 2016/2019.
- Is familiar with powerCLI and other scripting languages.
- Additional it would be a benefit to have base knowledge on VMware vRealize Suite and VCD.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols and operating system configuration.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and best practice.
