**Reporting to: Director-Placements**

**Job Summary**: To obtain employment and experiential opportunities in business, industry, academia for students in all programs of the University. To counsel, prepare and enhance hiring potential of students, new graduates into the job market. To assist in the Internships and Placements of students.

**Position: Placement Officer - DSU**

**Educational Qualification**:PGDM** (Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Human Resources) / **MBA **(Master of Business Administration in Human Resources) / **Master of Arts **(Personnel Management & Industrial Relations) / **M.S.W **(Masters in Social Work) from a reputed Institute/University with First Class.

**Experience**:8 years **of overall experience, out of which at least 5 years should be in a similar position.

**Roles and Responsibilities of the Placement Officer, Dayananda Sagar University**

**1.** Liaisons with diverse industries / companies and assist students with placement.

**2.** Proposes annual Training & Placement budget.

**3.** Identifies training needs of students and work backwards to plan and conduct the trainings in close coordination with Department Deans and Department Placement Anchors/Coordinators.

**4. **Arranges campus interviews.

**5.** Assists students develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counselling and group sessions.

**6. **Assists students develop and implement successful job search strategies.

**7. **Prepares an audio-video presentation and brochures about the University to be presented to potential employers.

**8.** Compiles and maintains the database of student’s profiles Department-wise.

**9. **Undertakes a rigorous placement campaign.

**10.** Assists potential employers / industries in achieving their hiring goals by selecting our students.

**11.** Empowers students with life-long career decision-making skills.

**12. **Provides resources and activities to facilitate the career planning process.

**13. **Acts as a mediator between students, alumni and potential employers.

**14. **Up gradation of the students’ skill sets as per industry expectations.

**15. **Generation of awareness in the students regarding future career options available to them.

**17.** Assists students in obtaining final placement in reputed companies.

**18.** Keeps track of all the advertisements related to placements appropriate to the profiles of job aspirant students.

**20.** Provides right placement to the students so that they excel in their respective careers.

**21.** Organizes placement training for the students and make them ready for cracking Aptitude Tests, Personal interviews and Group discussions (GD’s) conducted by potential employers.

**22.** Getting approval for on-campus drives from the Vice-Chancellor, Director-Placement, and respective Deans / Principal and in turn informing the eligible students through Department Placement Anchors / Coordinators.

**23. **Giving intimation to Department Placement Anchors / Coordinators for off-campus drive and encouraging the students to participate in the drive to be held by potential employers.

**24.** To coordinate effectively with Aptitude Testing/Assessment, Training companies and Skill development partners with whom Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has entered into and act as an anchor to take things forward in the right direction for enabling students excel.

**25.** Guide and counsel the students in securing Internship and permanent Placement by bringing them in contact with the prospective employers.

**26.** Provide information on the schedule of recruitment drives well in advance to all stakeholders, viz Vice-Chancellor, Director-Placement, and respective Deans / Principal / HODs, Department Placement Anchors / Coordinators, and students.

**27. **Places request for resources required well in advance and coordinates with the concerned and ensures availability of the same

**29. **Any additional tasks as entrusted by the Director-Placements.
