Anaesthesia Technician

**Position Title**: Anaesthesia Technician

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Pre-operative Preparation**:

- Prepare anaesthesia equipment, instruments, and drugs before surgeries.
- Check and calibrate anaesthesia machines and monitors to ensure functionality.
- Maintain readiness of resuscitation equipment and emergency drugs.
- **Assisting in Anaesthesia Administration**:

- Assist anaesthetists during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia.
- Position and secure patients for safe administration of anaesthesia.
- Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to the anaesthetist promptly.
- **Equipment Management**:

- Clean, sterilize, and store all anaesthesia equipment as per hospital protocol.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of anaesthesia machines and related equipment.
- Maintain inventory of anaesthesia supplies and initiate reordering to avoid stockouts.
- **Post-operative Support**:

- Assist in patient transfer to recovery rooms and monitor post-anaesthesia conditions.
- Document anaesthesia details and maintain patient records as per hospital standards.
- Provide immediate assistance in emergency situations in the recovery area.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to infection control guidelines and ensure sterile working conditions.
- Follow all NABH norms and hospital policies related to patient care and safety.
- Participate in regular training sessions and quality improvement initiatives.
- **Coordination and Communication**:

- Coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and other OT staff for seamless surgical procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff and trainees.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Anaesthesia Technology or a related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum 1-3 years of experience as an Anaesthesia Technician in a hospital setting.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in handling anaesthesia machines and related equipment.
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to anaesthetic drugs.
- Familiarity with NABH protocols and safety standards.
- **Soft Skills**:

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure.

**Work Schedule**:

- Rotational shifts as per OT schedules, including weekends and public holidays.
