Maintenance Electrician

Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance and Repairs

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and components to identify and resolve issues.

Replace faulty electrical parts, such as switches, relays, and wiring.

Perform routine checks and servicing of electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, and distribution boards.

Installation and Commissioning

Install new electrical systems and equipment as per technical specifications and blueprints.

Commission electrical systems and ensure compliance with operational standards.

Preventative Maintenance

Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.

Conduct electrical safety tests and inspections on equipment and circuits.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure all electrical systems comply with national and local electrical codes.

Adhere to workplace safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage.

Identify potential electrical hazards and implement corrective measures.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements.

Prepare reports on recurring electrical issues and recommend corrective actions.

Qualifications:
Education and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Electrical Maintenance or a related field.

Valid electrician's license or certification (as required by local regulations).

Experience

2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and automated control systems is an advantage.

**Skills**:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and electrical testing equipment.

Basic understanding of mechanical systems and how they integrate with electrical components.

Competencies

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Excellent communication skills to report findings and interact with colleagues.

Work Conditions:
Frequently works in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Requires physical activity, such as climbing ladders, lifting equipment, and working in confined spaces.

May involve exposure to high voltages, heat, or loud environments; appropriate safety measures are mandatory.
