**Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)**

**Job Summary**:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care, promoting health, and preventing illness in a variety of healthcare settings. You will assess patients' health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications and treatments, and educate patients and their families about health-related issues. With a focus on compassion, professionalism, and evidence-based practice, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial health status.
- Perform and document accurate and thorough patient histories, including medical conditions, medications, allergies, and vital signs.
- Develop individualized nursing care plans based on patients' needs, preferences, and treatment goals.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely and effectively, adhering to established protocols and standards of practice.
- Monitor patients' responses to interventions, assess for changes in condition, and report any abnormalities or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Provide skilled nursing care, including wound care, medication management, IV therapy, and patient monitoring.
- Educate patients and families about disease management, self-care techniques, medication regimen, and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs, ensuring informed decision-making and respectful, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to infection control practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities, such as attending educational programs, obtaining certifications, and pursuing advanced degrees.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and cultural competence in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduation from an accredited nursing program leading to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on specialty or practice setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound nursing judgments and decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing healthcare environments.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technology tools.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet patient care needs.
- Adherence to professional standards of nursing practice, including ethical conduct, confidentiality, and respect for patients' rights and dignity.

**Working Conditions**:

- Registered Nurses may work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and community health agencies.
- Work hours may vary depending on the setting, specialty, and patient demand, with potential for rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call responsibilities.

- Travel may be required for home health nurses or those working in mobile healthcare units.
