Climate Smart Agriculture

The CSA specialist will play a key role in project design and provide technical expertise and strategic advice on climate-smart adaptation strategies in the agricultural sector. She/he would also be involved in the implementation of CSA practices to enhance agricultural resilience.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide technical guidance and advice on CSA practices, technologies, and innovations that enhance agricultural resilience to climate change impacts, such as improved water management, soil conservation, agroforestry systems, crop diversification etc.
- Collaborate with relevant organisations, research institutions, and government agencies to foster partnerships, exchange knowledge, and leverage resources for CSA adaptation initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal teams and undertake stakeholder management.
- Develop and implement adaptation plans, considering climate projection scenarios and socioeconomic factors, along with the Climate Resilience Cell, Department of Agriculture, Government of Odisha.
- Conduct capacity building programmes and workshops to enhance the capacity of farmers, SHGs, and other stakeholders in implementing CSA practices and adapting to climate change.
- Contribute to the dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and research findings related to CSA adaptation through reports, publications, and participation in meetings and workshops.

**Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Agriculture Science or Agriculture Engineering.

**Experience**
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience in CSA practices.
- Strong knowledge of climate change science and its impact on agriculture, coupled with an understanding of CSA principles, practices, and technologies.
- Experience in designing and implementing capacity-building programmes.

**Skill Set**
- Proficiency in data analysis, monitoring, and evaluation to assess project impacts.
- Understanding of policy processes and ability to provide inputs for the development of agricultural policies and strategies
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as with the team.
