About the role
The Product Owner role sits with Australia Retail & Commercial Technology Domain, Home Loans Tribe Tech Area. The purpose of Home Loans is to make great home loan experiences possible. Provide our customers with simple, industry-leading home lending solutions, quickly, reliably and cost-effectively.
The Product Owner will typically work closely with the capability lead, product area lead, scrum master and the tribe performance lead. The role will lead the squad based in Bengaluru and will be accountable for the planning & delivery of the squad backlog.
You will role model Home Loans ways of working and will be passionate about delivery as well as leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing others in your squad.
1. Delivery Focus with taking full responsibility for the backlog refinement, scope & delivery approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of complex deliveries, typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines. Manages the change control procedure and ensures no (mínimal) impacts to deliverables. Provides effective leadership to the squad / delivery team and takes appropriate & timely actions ensuring the deliveries are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets.
2. Stakeholder Management by ensuring regular and accurate communication to stakeholders. Identifies the communications and relationship needs of stakeholder groups. Translates communications/stakeholder engagement strategies into specific activities and deliverables. Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding. Facilitates business decision-making processes. Captures and disseminates technical and business information.
3. Solve problems by identifying, assessing and managing risks, issues & dependencies for the success of the delivery. Ensures that realistic delivery scope and delivery plans are maintained and tracked. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Oversees and measures the fulfillment of contractual obligations. Ensures Quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedures.
4. Own it. Most importantly, you’ll get to deliver end to end service, and drive the Home Loans Bengaluru delivery maturity by working with the extended leadership & delivery team members across the tribe (and ANZ).
What will your day look like
- Lead and mentor squad members, to pursue its mission to design, develop and deliver enterprise grade solutions.
- Take full responsibility for the life cycle of the squad delivery from the inception through to build & test, end to end testing phase, implementation and post implementation support.
- Design and implement secure, simple and impactful solutions with a laser focus on automation and DevOps engineering techniques
- Constantly focus on prioritizing tasks, activities and the squad’s backlog with the customer at the heart of their decision making.
- Ensure dependent teams & integration partners are identified & engaged for the scope of work across the tribe & larger organization.
- Work at a senior level, collaborating with other product owners, architects, engineers, release leads, scrum masters, journey experts and operations experts across multiple domains
- Facilitate rapid decision making for the team
- Shape how ANZ delivers on its commitment to provide great customer service through technology
- Provide and / or organize out of hours support as and when required
- Continuously seeks ways to grow own thinking and improve delivery efficiencies.

- Strong Delivery Management experience with proven track record of managing large and complex projects / initiatives / large BAU items
