**JOB PURPOSE**
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Responsibilities included Installation, Configuration, Integration and Maintenance in WebSphere MQ.
- Installing MQ V6,V7 &V8on various UNIX based Servers (AIX, Solaris and HP-UX) and Windows based Operating Systems.
- Upgrading MQ versions by manual process and automated processes using scripts.
- Identifying out of support MQ 7 versions on servers and upgraded to Version 8 and eventually to V9.
- Install MQ using smitty and installp utilities on AIX and Solaris Servers.
- Need to Create and configure MQ Objects like Queue Managers, Local Queues, Alias Queues, Remote queues, Transmission Queues, Dead Letter Queues, Clustered Queues, Channels, Listeners, Clusters, Triggers, Processes and Namelists.
- Configure repository Queue Managers in a Clustered environment.
- Convert an existing network of Queue Managers into a Cluster environment.
- Built DEV Environments from scratch and followed through to TEST and Successful PRODUCTION Deployment.
- Create MQ Objects in DEVELOPMENT, TEST and PRODUCTION Environments.
- Monitoring log files of Clusters and Queues and Queue Managers.
- Monitoring MQ Objects using MQMON
- Problem determination using Queue Manager Error logs.
- Clear Queues using MQ Commands and the MQMON monitoring tool.
- Check for and Set MQ Authorities for different Applications Teams.
- Setting Authorities on Queue Managers, Channels and Queues.
- Involve in developing backup and recovery procedures.
- Read/Browsed Messages to verify proper/complete message transmission.
- Run Security Scripts to assign authorization to Queue Managers.
- Edit and Update CronJobs as and when required.
- Maintain and Document MQ Installs and Upgrades on various Platforms.
- Maintain over 300 Queue Managers on over 200 Servers.
- Open PMRs with IBM and document the fixes.
- Perform regular on-call duties like scheduled MQ bounces during server upgrades.
- Maintained, administered, configured and tuned WebSphere Application Server in a clustered environment on UNIX based servers.
- Responsibilities included Installation, Configuration, Integration, Deployment and Maintenance of WebSphere Application Server.
- Implemented Horizontal & Vertical Clustering of WebSphere Application Server.
- Upgraded WAS to V6.0 and MQ from 5.3 to 6.0.
- Created and maintained automated scripts based on requirements.
- Monitored Queue Manager Log files.
- Implemented the Workload Management (WLM) (to handle HTTP Requests, Servlet Requests, and EJB Requests).
- Configured Cluster Environments.
- Applied CSDs, Hypers, hotfixes and PTFs.
- Resolved problems from looking up the error logs and by running user traces and service traces.
- Monitored WebSphere Application
