**Pharmacist for Anti-microbial Stewardship**
Conceptualized in the year 2004 as a philanthropic initiative for the Eastern and North-Eastern
parts of India and the neighbouring countries, the Tata Medical Center (TMC) started operations
in Kolkata on May 16, 2011. The hospital is governed by a charitable trust - Tata Medical Centre
Trust. It is an integrated Oncology facility with well-trained professional staff and equipped
with modern facilities and the most contemporary medical equipment. Set up at a cost of Rs.
350 crores, the Hospital, with a capacity of 437 beds, serves all sections of the society, with 50%
of the infrastructure earmarked for free or subsidized treatment for the underprivileged
sections. The hospital provides a wide spectrum of services from diagnosis, therapy to
rehabilitation and palliative support in cancer. The Institution's objective is to excel in service,
education and research.
It has extensive laboratory and imaging services, day-care facilities and surgical services. The
department of Microbiology has state-of -art diagnostic facilities. The department supports in
related services of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infections. The clinical consultation
services are available round the clock together with infection control services. Hospital also has
Clinical Pharmacology and Infectious Disease department services. The Microbiology
department has 2 consultants and 3 post-MD Microbiology fellows. The department has
considerable workload spanning from bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, virology and
mycobacteriology diagnostic services apart from environmental microbiology and sterility
testing services. Many of the lab tests are NABL accredited. There is a good molecular diagnostic
service available on site. The Hospital and Microbiology department are involved in many
ongoing ICMR supported projects in strengthening of diagnostic, and infection control areas.
The clinical Microbiology and ID consultants are involved in regular consultation services for
optimization of infection management in patient settings and anti-microbial stewardship, for
the patients admitted in wards, ICU or in transplant settings along with OPD clinics. The clinical
Pharmacology consultant supervises the pharmacy services supported by medical
administration.

**Qualifications and skills-**
**Minimum Qualification**:
- PharmD from a recognized University/ College
**Preferable**:
- PharmD with working experience in hospital/ Antimicrobial Stewardship
The remuneration will be commensurate with years of experience.

**Desired Aptitude and Computer skills-**
1. Ability to communicate and liaise with various staff
- language skills (English/ Hindi/
Bangla)
2. Ability to work with basic computer skills
- Microsoft word/ Excel/ Power-point
3. Mentally fit as the work would often need daily extensive ward rounds for data
collection and analysis.
**Primary Job responsibilities-**
1. To perform various tasks in relation to Antimicrobial Stewardship. These include variety
of works and data collection and related AMSP quality indicator analysis.
2. To take rounds in wards for antimicrobial consumptions and alert the AMSP team for
actions
3. To act as bridging between AMSP consultants, clinical and nursing team in relation to
optimizing the antimicrobial use.
4. To take part in training and education activities for optimal antimicrobial use.
5. To be able to support routine pharmacists as per clinical need.
