Job Description:
Diageo’s Digital and Technology team (D&T) is significantly revising its operating model to support the Diageo business in becoming the best data insights-driven consumer product company. The aim of the revised Operating Model is to:
- Accelerate time to value; optimise the value from our technology spend- Enhance our strategic capabilities, particularly around data- Create a stronger 'go to market' approach to better embed solutions

ESG is recognised as a critical area for Diageo’s performance ambition. It is also one of the priority process areas where D&T can provide strategic thought leadership - to shape, identify and deliver the Digital & Data capabilities required to enable Diageo to deliver the Society 2030 ambition and beyond.

Adopting a D&T 'Value Stream' approach for ESG will enable...- Long-life structure to build retained knowledge of ESG Digital & Data across a mix of D&T resources- Holistic thought leadership & strategic direction- Ability to plan for the long-term, deliver value in short-term - considering this will require a multi-year program to deliver

Role Purpose
- A core part of this Value Stream group is a dedicated 'ESG Solution Architect - Data' role to ensure:
- End-2-end solution architecture utilizing technology principles and standards set by Enterprise Architecture-
- Focus on building the foundational data assets and products as part of delivery.- Strong connection between overall Digital & Data strategy and actual execution of the ESG value stream outcomes.
- Top Accountabilities:
- Data Architecture Strategy for ESG: The ESG Data Solution Architect will devise a data architecture strategy aligning with Diageo's ESG goals. This involves understanding data requirements for ESG performance, translating these into a strategy guiding data collection, storage, processing, and utilization, and collaborating with business and technology teams.-
- Design end-to-end Solution Architecture for ESG: The architect will design a comprehensive solution architecture supporting Diageo's ESG objectives. This involves understanding the ESG data lifecycle, designing a system handling data storage, management, and analysis, and ensuring interoperability and compliance with Enterprise Architecture Standards and Principles.-
- Deliver the ESG Data Assets and Data Products: Key member of the Agile team in the development and delivery of ESG data assets and products. This involves coordinating with teams to collect and process data into valuable, reliable, and timely reporting and visualizations products driving Diageo's ESG goals.-
- Establish reusable patterns and standards for the ESG Data Foundations: The ESG Data Solution Architect will set standards and reusable patterns for the ESG data foundation to streamline and accelerate the availability of ESG data. This includes defining data models, conventions, quality rules, ensuring consistency and reliability across ESG data assets, and facilitating quicker development and enhanced data governance.- Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Data Architecture roles- Strong knowledge of Diageo technology & data landscape-
- Strong knowledge of ESG functional area, including ability to keep pace with external requirements, regulations & customer demands-
- Strong strategic thinking and visioning skills coupled with a story-telling approach to develop a compelling narrative that can engage & excite-
- In-depth expertise as a Data Architect, designing/implementing information solutions and data management programs in the CPG/Pharma/Retail industries-
- Experience in architecting & implementing large-scale, modern, Big Data, Digital, Data Warehousing and/or Enterprise Integration platforms-
- Understanding of end-to-end BI/DW Development and Operations Life Cycle-
- Experience with Microsoft’s Azure data platform and business intelligence suite including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, Spark, Azure Data Lake Store, Synapse and PowerBI-
- Experience designing and building analytics solutions, data products and visualizations with PowerBI through an Agile methodology-
- Attention to detail is key, inquisitive & questioning nature-
- Strong problem-solving planning/ organising, highly detail conscious-
- Quick learner who exhibits resiliency and tenacity in the face of challenge-
