Privacy Lawyer

**What you’ll do**:
Job summary

This role will support the global Privacy and Cyber team with a special focus on the APAC region, and will act as a key contact partner for the businesses in the region. It will drive compliance with privacy and cyber laws, and support in maintaining and promoting a culture of privacy awareness within Eaton. This position will provide legal advice for matters relating to privacy and cybersecurity, drive awareness across the organization regarding cutting-edge legal and business developments, and lead team morale and collaboration efforts.

Job responsibilities
- Conducting structured and systematic monitoring and reporting on changes in global Data Protection and Privacy and Cybersecurity legislation, including preparation of compliance measures and action items
- Providing legal advice on ad-hoc data protection related queries
- Reviewing contracts from data protection and privacy perspective
- Providing support with compliance-related and other internal data protection projects
- Supporting internal and external communication and training
- Support the development of data protection training materials
- Identifying and driving improvement opportunities within the data protection processes
- Preparing reports and statistics on data protection for senior leadership
- Conduct risk assessments and monitor internal controls, ensuring issues are documented and tracked to closure and liaison with relevant stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
University Law Degree (Minimum Bachelor)

Experience
- 5 to 8 years

- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills dealing with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice, to communicate effectively with non-legal internal colleagues, and to interface with a broad range of professionals across the company
- Excels at defining and managing priorities and flexing priorities as required, along with demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset along with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Operates in an ethical manner and maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- A high level of spoken and written English is a must and any additional language skills would be an advantage."
