We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Associate join our Interest Group. This role is located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu - HYBRID.
**In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways**:
The Interest Control (“IC”) is responsible for calculating interest on account balances of Pershing LLC, a subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon, introducing broker-dealers (“IBDs”) and account balances of customers of the IBDs, and processing the amounts (either debits or credits) to each respective account monthly. Accounts carrying debit balances (for margin accounts) are charged interest and accounts carrying credit balances are typically credited interest.
Team is responsible for calculating and analysing interest on account balances of Pershing LLC, Introducing Broker dealers (IBD’s) and account balances of customers of the IBD’s, and processing the amounts (either the debits or credits) to each respective account on monthly basis.
Responsible to prepare subledger entries pertaining to various product’s Interest income.
Responding to client’s interest queries via Service centre. Team also responsible for monitoring the Daily Market Rates and updating in the Funds U (GIS) system which in turn IBD’s or customers will be charged or paid based on their balances.
Prepare & analyse supporting work papers on monthly Interest computation during month close\Interest close.
Reporting of daily trend analysis to Senior Management for decision making and provide detailed explanations of increase/decrease variance analysis.
Compiling a report at product level and do variance analysis detailing the contributed for major change between two periods in the revenue / expense.
Leads real-time financial performance monitoring.
Escalates any financial issues to management.
Maintain Control documentation and testing of the same.
Ensure to maintain legal and statutory requirements intact and with focus on timelines and accuracy.
Will be a key contributor to the Interest team, and responsible for managing the day-to-day reporting.
Lead ad-hoc projects, perform complex analysis, interpret financial data, and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives.
**To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following**:
**Minimum Education**: bachelor’s degree in a financial discipline such as Accounting and Finance
**Minimum Experience**: 8+ years of experience in operations, accounting or finance, client support.
**Preferred Experience**: 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Billing & Client support, Investment Banking, Capital markets, Month end book close.
Requires familiarity with Brokerage activities and products (e.g., securities trading and settlement, margin, securities finance, etc.)
Requires familiarity with the banking system of the United States.
Must be responsible for activities requiring exceptional attention to detail.
Must be able to work as an individual contributor in a high-paced environment with very minimum supervision.
Must have Strong written and oral communications skills in English.
Advanced MS Excel, Power query, Automation Tools skills shall be preferred.
Good time management and prioritizing skills needed.
Must be flexible to work for extended US working hours and adaptable to environment.
