The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Adopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirements
- Ensure integrity, availability and performance of DB2 zOS systems by providing technical support and maintenance.
- Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
- Assist in resource planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system.
- Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements.
- Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis.
- Act as support and an authority for z/OS operating system and system components; provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, and implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to z/OS operating system, network, and component software.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Minimum 4 + years of experience in Mainframe DB2 Administration environment with work management, user management, journal management and performance management.
- Ability to assist in solutioning of new design and program fixes in databases.
- Validated knowledge to recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes and demonstrable experience on BRMS, Tape management, ATL/VTL for Tape Libraries.
