**Job Description**:
As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our laundry facility. You will be responsible for handling and processing laundry items, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and supporting the overall laundry operations. Your attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness will contribute to the smooth running of our laundry department.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Laundry Processing:

- Sort, separate, and load soiled laundry items into washing machines according to established procedures.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment following proper guidelines and settings.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings, such as water temperature, cycle duration, and detergent usage, as needed.
- Inspect clean laundry items to ensure they meet quality standards and promptly address any issues or defects.

2. Ironing and Folding:

- Iron, steam, and press laundered items, such as linens, uniforms, and garments, to ensure a professional and neat appearance.
- Fold, stack, and package clean items for storage or distribution, following specific folding techniques and standards.
- Pay attention to garment care instructions and handle delicate items appropriately to avoid damage.

3. Stain Treatment and Maintenance:

- Identify and treat stains on laundry items using appropriate stain removal techniques and products.
- Report any persistent stains or issues to the Laundry Supervisor or Manager for further action.
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment, including washing machines, dryers, and ironing stations, ensuring they are in proper working condition.

4. Inventory and Supply Management:

- Maintain inventory of laundry supplies, such as detergents, fabric softeners, and cleaning agents, and notify the supervisor when reordering is necessary.
- Keep track of linen and uniform stock levels, report shortages or damages, and assist with linen inventory counts as required.
- Ensure storage areas are organized and clean, and that supplies are properly stored and labeled.

5. Safety and Sanitation:

- Adhere to health and safety regulations and follow proper sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Dispose of waste and contaminated materials according to established guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Laundry Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a laundry or housekeeping-related role is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of laundry procedures, including sorting, washing, drying, and folding.
- Familiarity with different types of fabrics, care instructions, and stain removal techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy laundry bags or items as needed.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as laundry operations may require.
