A bending operator's job description includes:
- **Setting up and operating machines**: Bending operators set up and operate machines to bend metal into shapes like bars, rods, angles, pipes, and tubes.
- **Ensuring quality**: Bending operators ensure the quality of the finished product by inspecting parts for conformance to requirements and tolerances.
- **Meeting production rates**: Bending operators ensure that production rates are met or exceeded.
- **Reporting malfunctions**: Bending operators report machine malfunctions to management.
- **Completing safety procedures**: Bending operators complete all required safety procedures before and during operations.

**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating bending machines.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
- Experience with CNC bending machines is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to train and mentor junior operators.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
