**Key Responsibilities**:
A Finishing In Charge in a paper manufacturing unit oversees the finishing operations to ensure the quality and packaging of the final product. The key responsibilities typically include:

- Oversee the finishing processes, including cutting, packaging, labelling and stacking of paper products.
- Coordinate with other departments (production, quality control) to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance and training to finishing staff.
- Inspect finished products for quality standards, ensuring they meet customer specifications regarding dimensions, thickness, smoothness, size, etc.
- Identify defects and take corrective actions to maintain product quality.
- Work with the quality assurance team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Plan and allocate resources (manpower, equipment, materials) for efficient finishing operations.
- Maintain production schedules and ensure that daily/weekly targets are met.
- Minimize waste and optimize machine usage to improve productivity.
- Ensure that finishing machinery is in good working condition and perform routine maintenance checks.
- Report any equipment issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid downtime.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies, and request replenishments as needed.
- Maintain records of production reports, equipment maintenance logs, and quality control documentation.
- Ensure accurate labelling and documentation of finished products.

Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve finishing processes, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
- Implement Lean or Six Sigma practices to streamline operations.
- Keep up with industry trends and advancements in finishing techniques.

**Requirements**:

- A degree in Engineering, Paper Technology, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in paper manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of finishing equipment, quality control procedures, and safety regulations.

This role is essential for ensuring that the final paper products meet the quality standards and are ready for delivery to customers.
