Introduction:
This role sits within Research Operations and specifically focusses on maintaining Equity Financial Database and working with analysts upload their company financial data into the Financial Research database.
What will you be doing?
- Continuing development and maintenance of the existing Equities financial database. Ensuring high-quality financial data for calculations, validations, industry specific values and forecast data throughout the entire lifecycle of publication, from data upload to distribution.
- Training analysts and their teams to upload their company financial data into the Financial Research database. Creation of upload and publication templates prior to initiation and on an ongoing basis.
- Facilitating on-demand changes to calculations and line items on a per company basis, within sub-sectors and across regions.
- Supporting the Research Production team with regards to all financial data-related matters in product, feeds, and on Barclays Live, our client facing portal.
- Maintaining the data integrity between analysts’ model data and data in the system by monitoring the system and generating reports on a regular basis to eliminate any errors or inconsistencies.
- Production of quarterly reports for research management on data completeness.
- Performing user acceptance testing and sign-off for all system changes.
- Contribute to the development of the new Financial Database for Macro Economic Forecasts.
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- High level of Microsoft Excel skills and understanding of financial/accounting terms.
- Strong team work and communication skills as the person will be required to operate with teams across the organization, in multiple locations and time zones.
- Ability to carry out detailed tasks with diligence, and within set timelines.
- Self-motivated, identifies opportunities and is proactive in putting forward ideas and solutions
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- A good understanding of accounting, financial statements and fundamental Equity Research valuation.
- Equity Research and financial database management experience preferred.
- Expert Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables a significant advantage.
- Superior customer service ethic and a proactive approach to problem solving
