**Fire Technician Job Description - (Fire Extinguisher Installation and Maintenance)**

**Job Title**: Fire Technician
**Department**: Fire Safety
**Location**: Field (Various Client Sites)
**Work Mode**: Field-based, On-Site

**Job Summary**:
A Fire Technician specializing in fire extinguisher installation and maintenance is responsible for ensuring that fire safety equipment is properly installed, maintained, and inspected in accordance with national fire codes and regulations. This includes performing routine servicing, conducting safety checks, replacing parts, and educating clients on fire extinguisher safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Installation of Fire Extinguishers**:

- Assess client requirements to determine appropriate type and quantity of fire extinguishers.
- Install fire extinguishers in strategic locations based on fire hazard classifications, building layout, and legal regulations.
- Mount and secure fire extinguishers to ensure accessibility and compliance with fire safety standards.
- Label and provide clear instructions on proper usage for clients.

2. **Inspection & Maintenance**:

- Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire extinguishers to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform maintenance tasks, such as refilling extinguishers, checking pressure gauges, and replacing expired or damaged equipment.
- Perform hydrostatic testing, recharging, and any other necessary repairs to keep extinguishers in working condition.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and repairs for each extinguisher.

3. **Troubleshooting and Repair**:

- Diagnose and fix issues with malfunctioning fire extinguishers.
- Replace worn-out parts, such as hoses, nozzles, or seals, ensuring fire extinguishers operate effectively.

4. **Compliance & Documentation**:

- Ensure all fire safety equipment is compliant with local, state, and national fire codes and standards).
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and installations for reporting purposes.
- Provide certificates or reports of service to clients for regulatory purposes.

5. **Customer Service & Consultation**:

- Provide clients with advice on fire extinguisher placement and usage.
- Respond to customer inquiries and offer solutions for improving overall fire safety.
- Educate clients on the proper handling and maintenance of fire extinguishers.

6. **Field Work**:

- Travel to various job sites to install, inspect, or maintain fire extinguishers.
- Work independently, managing time and schedules to meet client needs.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently while minimizing disruptions to the client’s operations.

7. **Safety Protocols**:

- Adhere to all workplace safety standards, including the proper handling of chemicals, pressure vessels, and fire safety equipment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary during fieldwork.

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in fire safety or fire extinguisher servicing preferred.
- **Experience**: Previous experience in fire safety, fire extinguisher installation, or related technical field.
- **Knowledge**:

- Familiarity with fire safety codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA).
- **Technical Skills**: Ability to perform mechanical repairs, pressure testing, and recharging procedures.
- **Physical Ability**: Ability to lift and carry heavy fire extinguishers, work in various environments, and operate field tools safely.
- **Attention to Detail**: Strong focus on accuracy when documenting work and ensuring compliance with fire codes.
- **Communication Skills**: Ability to explain fire safety procedures and equipment to clients clearly and effectively.

**Work Environment**:

- **Field-based**: The role requires traveling to different client locations (commercial buildings, factories, offices, etc.).
- **Outdoor/Indoor Work**: Work can be performed both indoors and outdoors depending on the site.
- **Schedule**: The position may involve flexible hours, with some weekend or after-hours work to meet client needs.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
