Introduction:
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards especially around Risk Events standard.

This role requires reporting of losses in BUK on the centralized loss database and raise risk events in-line with the Risk Event standard which would also entail supervisory checks and oversight of the activities performed by the team. Furthermore, the role would require operating controls in timely manner and escalate any gaps as per the agreed escalation matrix.

What will you be doing?
- Ensure Financial Losses are booked in a timely and accurate manner in Financial Loss Database
- Perform supervisory checks on the team activities
- Operate controls in a timely manner and escalate any potential gaps as per the agreed escalation matrix
- Effective communication with global stakeholders
- Drive governance routines with stakeholders both internal and external

Team Management
- Drive a strong Values driven culture within the Business Unit aligned to Barclays Purpose Values & Behaviour
- Build effective communication channels to ensure open communication and address issues/ concerns raised by the team.
- Provide leadership to the managers and management oversight for issue resolution
- Create an environment that encourages staff retention; high levels of staff engagement and ensure employee satisfaction shows a year-on-year improvement
- Embed a culture of regular reviews and performance management aligned to Barclays standards
- Identify the developmental needs of the team & encourage them to take suitable training programs to enhance their capabilities and skills.

What we’re looking for:

- 10+ years’ experience of working in Consumer Banking ideally in a Retail Banking
- Previous experience in Governance and Risk Management
- Good standard in writing and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines across competing priorities
- A collaborative leader who is able to work effectively both with their own team and with others within QA/CCO/ Horizontals; and more broadly across BUK Operations
- Demonstrate analytical and communication skills as well as work with a diverse range of colleagues across global sites
