**Job Description**:

- JOB PURPOSE
- To provide monthly work plan to Director of Engineering for approval.
- To ensure preventive maintenance schedules are performed and correctly recorded.
- To report to Director Engineering of any out of order equipment that will affect hotel operation.
- To notify Director of Engineering of any non-productive equipment use.
- To ensure Engineering maintenance requests are performed and correctly recorded.
- To report to Director of Engineering of any maintenance requests those are pending.
- To inspect daily all plant rooms, kitchens, service outlets and record any defects for rectification
- To ensure new work orders that have been approved by DOE are performed and correctly recorded.
- EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBITIES & EMPOWERMENT
- Empowered to take operational decisions related to guest handling and team handling.
- Monitors working condition of all Engineering & Machinery plant of the hotel.
- Updates on latest information from log books and service reports.
- Maintain all the files related to all kinds of manuals.
- Updates on Online engineering tools i.e. OPEN, MACH, PLANET 21, INTEREACT.
- Liaison with external Govt. agencies like BSES, DPCC, Boiler, Electrical Inspectorate, Fire and Elevator Inspector etc.
- KEY OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial
- Ensure the effective financial management of the engineering department by assisting Director of Engineering setting maintenance budgets, capital works programs and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against there are regularly monitored and reviewed. Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.
- Control of Capital Project Planning, in liaison with management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy.

Operational:

- To ensure each section of the Engineering is managed effectively, and results in maximizing productivity and quality of work.
- To assist Director Engineering on all aspects of engineering, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
- To ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures. Ensure that any tests and inspections required on plant by statutory authorities are carried out as and when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed. Ensure that the hotel fulfills all compliance requirements.
- Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program. Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building. Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded.
- Plans and implements a preventive maintenance program to try and achieve “zero” defects for all equipment in the Hotel
- Ensure that plant and equipment are correctly operated Engineering and Plant and equipment to suit the needs of the hotel
- Coordinates and assists management of hotel on internal campaign and activities of energy conservation program.
- Coordinates and participates in the environmental program/activities as prescribed by the environmental committee.

Business plan /Analysis:

- Contribute to the hotel’s profitability by ensuring the effective management of the buildings environmental controls and energy conservation systems. Evaluate, control and record energy usage and implement and upgrade energy conservation systems.
- Ensure the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties.

Team Management
- Ensure a technically competent engineering staff by selecting, training and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance team. Carry out regular work sampling studies within the department and evaluate the performance and productivity of personnel.
