The JD for the position of **Subject teacher/Special Educator**
Rationale
Teachers have a responsibility to ensure that the students in their care are taught thoroughly and purposefully and that the best possible learning environment prevails. Every teacher should take pride in a strong positive ethos that’s upheld and constantly reinforced by them in their teaching. The teacher should look to reward and encourage each individual rather than penalise and denigrate students and their work.
Each teacher must aim to create a happy, successful working environment in which the students of all abilities can flourish. Subject teachers do not work in a vacuum; they’re a part of a departmental team and will have the help, support and guidance of the Head of Department and other members.
Teachers working at LSH are expected to carry out their professional duties in accordance with the description of the child’s ability as per the special needs policy and child safety policy, that is available on the website. The specific responsibilities outlined below reflect this guidance.

10. To be aware of and to implement in curricular terms LSH’s Equal
Opportunities Policy.
