**Who are you**

You are a dynamic Research Engineer specializing in Intelligent Video Analytics, with a deep expertise in designing and advancing systems for video data processing and analysis. Your passion lies in pushing the boundaries of computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning technologies to derive profound insights from video streams. You thrive in research-driven environments where innovation and experimentation lead to breakthroughs in video analytics. You will be involved in applied research and is central to the perception algorithms deployed across our products.

**What your day might look like (Role)**

The Senior Applied Research Engineer - Computer Vision is a critical part of our internal Computer Vision/Video Analytics team. This team specializes in applied research and is central to the perception algorithms deployed across our products. This team partners with our hardware, software, and platforms teams to help bring our products and solutions to life.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelors/Masters/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics with a focus on Deep Learning, Computer Vision, or related areas
- Domain expertise in the area of Computer Vision and Deep Learning
- Foundational understanding of computer science including data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Clear communication and collaboration skills
- Deep problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Track record of successfully building and shipping products or open-source projects

**Must Haves**
- Experience building and optimizing libraries for fast computer vision
- Experience curating data, creating and optimizing models, and running experiments
- Expert knowledge of the principles, algorithms, and tools of applied Deep Learning, including model training strategies, data processing, cost functions, quality metrics, etc.
- Experience with one or more deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or Keras
- Experience porting and optimizing models and algorithms for different hardware platforms
- Strong programming skills using Python and C++
- Superhuman thirst for learning including scouting for ideas and keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field

**Good to Have**
- Experience working with multiple video streams for simultaneous integration into machine learning algorithms
- Experience optimizing deep learning models for embedded form factors
- Publications in Computer Vision/Machine Learning or related area
