**Tooling Selection and Maintenance**: Selecting appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials for each machining operation. They also oversee the maintenance and calibration of tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

**Quality Control**: Conducting regular quality checks and inspections of machined parts to ensure they meet the specified tolerances and quality standards. They make adjustments to programs or machine settings as necessary to maintain accuracy.

**Troubleshooting**: Identifying and resolving issues related to machine operation, tooling, or programming. This involves diagnosing problems, making adjustments, and performing maintenance to keep machines running smoothly.

**Collaboration**: Working closely with engineers, designers, and production teams to understand project requirements, provide technical expertise, and make recommendations for improving manufacturing processes.

**Safety and Compliance**:Adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment. They ensure that machines are operated safely and follow all necessary safety procedures.

**Continuous Improvement**: Staying updated with the latest advancements in machining technologies, software, and tools. They may suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

**Skills required for this role include**:

- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and teamwork skills
