**WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER**:
The Postdoctoral Human Dimensions Scientist (PDHDS) will work for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) as part of the Global Science Team (GST). They will provide technical and scientific support for TNC’s One Conservancy Science Plan, which is investing in science across the organization to achieve TNC’s 2030 Goals for people and nature. This position will be focused on the design and execution of a research initiative to identify strategic priority-setting for human dimensions research that can accelerate conservation impact while ensuring equitable outcomes for both people and nature.

The PDHDS will sit on the Human Dimensions Science Team (one of 5 science lines on the GST), and report to the Director of Human Dimensions Science. The project seeks to identify the biggest priority issues (globally and regionally) where novel uses of existing science and social science data and expertise can accelerate conservation practices that intersect in synergistic, or win-win ways, with sustainable development goals in partner communities and writ large. Central to the project will be the development and analysis of a comprehensive and multi-round survey and/or other research tools to identify areas of consensus within a large sample of TNC conservation practitioners. Their work will identify a set of priority areas and other insights that will play a critical role in strategic planning and the development of future programs and activities led by the Human Dimensions Team. The PDHDS will also explore the potential to expand the scope of the research outside of TNC and will collaborate with other GST staff in translating the results of this research into action, for example in strategy documents and project proposals.

- Ph.D. awarded by start of the position (and no longer than four years prior) including 1 to 2 years of related experience.
- Experience reviewing and synthesizing relevant scientific literature.
- Experience collecting, manipulating, analyzing and interpreting scientific data.
- Experience preparing reports of findings for peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience with grant writing or other fundraising efforts.
- Record of peer reviewed publications.
