Education - Graduation

Experience - At least 1 year for the same (_**this opening is not for freshers**_)

Computer - Must have work experience with EHRs & EMRs MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word and Google Tools.

Interpersonal Skills - Good Communication skills, positive attitude and should be confident.

**Summary**

The Medical Coder is responsible for the Coding of Inpatient & Out-Patient medical charts and Charge Entry aspects of the client-focused revenue cycle operations and must display in-depth knowledge and execute all standards operating procedures (SOPs) as well as communicating issues, trends, concerns and suggestions to the leadership.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for abstracting & coding In-Patient or Out-Patient medical records as per ICD - 09 CM, ICD - 10 CM, CPT, UHDDS, Compliance and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Review patient history, operations, chart reviews, consultation and discharge summaries to support the codes selected for the billing.
- Utilize ICD - 09 or ICD - 10 to select the diagnosis related group assignment for each encounter, review documentation to diagnosis sequence, co-morbidities and complications, secondary conditions and surgical procedures.
- Good understanding on clinical indicators, physicians raising queries, POA indicators, hospital-acquired conditions, MDC, MS-DRG assignments, CC, MCC conditions, Emergency Room which includes E&M, Ambulatory & trained on IPPS and OPPS rules and guidelines.
- Query the physician/client regularly for clarifications in the medical records. Identify document deficiency in reports. Enter the coding information in the Billing Software.
- Escalate difficult collection situations to management in a timely manner.
- Meeting daily/weekly and monthly targets set for an individual.
- Strong knowledge of Language Skill as American English with neutral accent. Communicates effectively with all internal and external clients.
- Uses good judgement and critical thinking skills; ability to identify and resolve problems.
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism with a commitment to client/patient/organization satisfaction.
- Functional knowledge of HIPPA rules and regulations and experience related to privacy laws, access and release of information.
- Ability to interact positively with team members, peers and seniors.

**Salary**: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
