**Job Title**: Credit Controller
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Credit Control**:
- Implement and maintain an effective credit control system to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.
- Monitor credit limits and terms, making adjustments as necessary to minimize credit risk.
- **Invoice Management**:
- Generate and issue accurate and timely invoices to clients.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to invoices promptly.
- **Debt Collection**:
- Negotiate and implement payment plans when necessary, ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
- **Credit Risk Assessment**:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients through comprehensive credit checks and analysis.
- Make recommendations on credit limits and terms based on assessment results.
- **Client Relationship Management**:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing queries and concerns related to credit and billing.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- **Reporting**:
- Generate regular reports on the status of accounts receivable, highlighting overdue payments and credit risk.
- Provide management with insights and recommendations based on credit performance.
- **Policy Adherence**:
- Ensure compliance with the company's credit policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations affecting credit control in the transportation industry.
- **Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, sales, and operations, to gather information and resolve credit-related issues.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align credit control strategies with overall company goals.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong understanding of credit management principles, practices, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft EXCEL
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
