**Job Summary**
The primary purpose of this role is to provide deep technical leadership in the development of cutting -edge data science, machine learning, and deep learning solutions to solve Lowe’s retail problems at massive scale. This position will provide a wide range of strategic and technical leadership, research, and production ready implementations and solutions collaborating closely with engineering, product management and business partner teams. You will support diverse areas of the home improvement retail business including, but not limited to: predictive modeling; personalization and recommendation, visual search, assortment optimization, pricing and promotion in digital/eCommerce space; advanced computer vision algorithms, Generative AI (LLM, Diffusion) to improve store operations, safety, product data quality, customer shopping experience, associate productivity across 1700+ Lowe’s physical stores, forecasting algorithms to optimize inventory and supply chain management across stores and distribution centers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Leads the execution of projects end to end with full adherence to enterprise project management practices by participating in formal and informal training.
- Maintains expert-level knowledge on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies and applies it to projects as well as using it to guide team members
- Responsible for influencing, leading the thought process, and defining the appropriate methodology for team members
- Scopes large, complex projects, identifying the right sources, methods, parameters, and procedures to be used; outlines and clarifies expectations with stakeholders
- Leverages deep understanding of statistical techniques and tools, as well as industry best practices, to analyze (or lead the analysis of) data according to the project plan; communicates with stakeholders to provide updates and manage scope
- Prepares final recommendations through effective storytelling and actionable insights for the relevant stakeholders, ensuring solutions are best-in-class, implementable and scalable
- Establishes clear measures of success, and communicates financial and non-financial analysis of benefits to leader
- Recommends process improvement across various functions of the enterprise by researching competitors and benchmarking industry best practices.
- Participates with or serves as a member of advisory and governance boards

**Educational qualifications**
Bachelors Degree (required): Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

Doctorate Degree (preferred): Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field

**Work Experience**
- 8 Years experience in analytics (fewer years may be accepted with a Masters or Doctorate degree)
- 3 Years programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.) (fewer years may be accepted with a Masters or Doctorate degree)
- 3 Years experience performing predictive analytics at a large scale enterprise
- 3-5 years experience in data science or advanced analytics in industry, Experience using multiple data systems and sources (such as Hadoop, Spark, Aster, Teradata, etc.), Programming experience (Python, Java, Scala, Rust, etc.), Theoretical/foundational understanding of machine learning algorithms
