Food & Beverage Service - Captain

As a Food & Beverage Service Captain, you’re essentially the leader of the front-of-house team, ensuring that the dining experience for guests is top-notch. Here’s a comprehensive list of responsibilities you have:
**Guest Service and Experience**
- **Lead the Service Team**: Supervise and coordinate the activities of servers and other staff members, ensuring smooth operations.
- Greet customers, take orders, and ensure a pleasant experience.
- **Guest Interaction**: Greet guests, take orders efficiently, and ensure a pleasant experience and interact with guests to ensure they have a pleasant dining experience. Address and resolve any complaints or issues.
- **Table Management**: Oversee the seating arrangements and manage reservations. Ensure that tables are properly set and maintained throughout the service.
**Operational Efficiency**
- **Service Standards**: Maintain high standards of service, ensuring that all food and beverage orders are accurately processed and delivered in a timely manner.
- **Training**: Train and mentor new staff members. Conduct regular briefings to keep the team informed about menu changes, specials, and service procedures.
- **Inventory Management**: Assist in managing inventory levels of service items and supplies. Ensure that all necessary items are stocked and ordered as needed.
**Collaboration**
- **Communication**: Coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure the seamless flow of service and timely preparation of orders.
- **Team Meetings**: Participate in or lead meetings with staff to discuss service improvements, share feedback, and address any operational issues.
**Compliance and Safety**
- **Health and Safety**: Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to. Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and safety in the dining area.
- **Regulations**: Stay updated with local regulations related to food service, including liquor licensing laws and allergen information.
**Administrative Duties**
- **Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of service operations, including guest feedback, incident reports, and any other relevant documentation.
- **Billing**: Oversee the billing process, ensuring that checks are accurately prepared and processed.
**Quality Control**
- **Monitor Service Quality**: Observe service delivery and implement improvements as needed to enhance guest satisfaction.
- **Feedback Collection**: Gather and analyse guest feedback to identify areas for improvement.
