Safety Officer for Civil Construction Site

As a Safety Engineer for Industrial Construction, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel, as well as compliance with safety regulations and standards, throughout the construction of industrial facilities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety awareness among all stakeholders involved in the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to industrial construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
2. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
- Perform thorough risk assessments for various construction activities and processes, identifying potential hazards and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Analyze construction plans, site layouts, and equipment usage to anticipate and prevent potential safety issues.
- Work closely with project teams to integrate safety measures into the construction planning and execution phases.
3. Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate workers, subcontractors, and project staff on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure that all personnel are aware of safety protocols and guidelines and actively participate in safety training initiatives.
4. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Compile and submit accurate incident reports to relevant regulatory bodies and management.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations related to construction and industrial activities.
- Ensure that all construction activities and practices comply with applicable safety codes and standards.
6. Safety Culture Promotion:
- Foster a strong safety culture by promoting open communication, proactive safety behaviors, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Encourage workers and subcontractors to report safety concerns and participate in safety initiatives.
7. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios, ensuring all personnel are well-prepared to respond effectively.
- Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency plans and ensure swift response in crisis situations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) preferred.
- Proven experience as a safety engineer or specialist in industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks, develop solutions, and implement preventive measures.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 per month
