An exciting new opportunity has arisen in our AML Compliance department for an AML Assistant

**The Role**:
The AML Compliance team is the centre of excellence for ensuring practical and strategic adherence to the UK AML regulatory framework. As an AML Assistant, you will provide expert support, advice, and guidance to the Firm on transactional matters relating to AML. You will work with the AML Officers and the AML Operations Manager to deliver services in line with quality and service levels.

**Your role is to**:

- Maintain client records in the firms Practice Management System in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide practical AML compliance advise to fee earners.
- Carry out client due diligence, including ID verification, assessing corporate structures, establishing beneficial ownership, source of funds and wealth, nature and purpose of relationships and screening for PEPs and Sanctions.
- Advise fee earners on the adequacy AML records, information and evidence in line with the firms AML Policy and procedural guidance.
- Take control of your own personal development to expand your skills and knowledge to develop into more complex areas of the business.

**As a Compliance Assistant, you will be expected to**:

- Have an appetite for learning about anti-money laundering, Sanctions, Tax Evasion and Fraud rules in the UK.
- Understand the formation of legal entities and corporate structures, including trusts.
- Reasonable understanding of the services offered by Anderson Strathern
- Good written and oral communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels throughout the firm.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Operate on a proactive and consultative basis to minimise risk and maximise the success of the firm.
