**Job Title**: Ship Broker
**Location**: Gurgaon
**Reports To**: Senior Broker / Managing Director
**Job Summary**
**Key Responsibilities1. Client Relationship Management**
- Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, charterers, and other stakeholders in the shipping industry.
- Understand client requirements to offer tailored shipping solutions.
- Provide excellent customer service and build trust to ensure long-term partnerships.
**2. Market Research and Analysis**
- Monitor global shipping markets, trends, and industry developments.
- Analyze freight rates, vessel availability, and cargo movements to provide informed advice to clients.
- Maintain knowledge of regulations and compliance standards in international shipping.
**3. Negotiation and Contracting**
- Act as an intermediary in negotiating charter party agreements, vessel sales, or cargo bookings.
- Draft and review contracts, ensuring all terms meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve disputes between parties and provide practical solutions.
**4. Documentation and Reporting**
- Manage the administrative aspects of deals, including contracts, invoices, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare market reports, deal summaries, and forecasts for clients and management.
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and follow company policies.
**5. Business Development**
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the client portfolio.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the company’s services.
- Collaborate with the team to develop strategies for market penetration and revenue growth.
**6. Operational Coordination**
- Liaise with shipping agents, port authorities, and other service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor vessel performance and cargo movements during the charter period.
- Communicate regularly with all parties to keep them updated on transaction progress.
**QualificationsEducation and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in ship brokering or a similar role in the maritime industry.
- Knowledge of the shipping market, vessel types, and chartering processes.
**Skills**
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using shipping platforms, databases, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English (additional languages are an advantage).
**Personal Attributes**
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
