Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of experience in an HR generalist role evidencing business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies
Analytical skills, including the understanding of metrics to support plans and monitor performance
High quality document preparation and presentation skills; facilitation skills
Ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
Experience in coaching senior leaders and managers Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams
Proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills, and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative
Not hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means that not only are you able to think strategically and conceptualize initiatives, but also be willing to execute and see these to completion
This role drives the development and implementation of HR strategy for the AP-Corp and a few other FGBS teams in India. This will involve supporting senior business leaders and leading people charters for various teams within the team. This role works alongside seasoned industry leaders to develop the talent strategy and build a work environment where employees can develop, contribute and thrive.
Key job responsibilities
You will focus on organizational design and effectiveness, talent management, rewards/recognition, workforce planning, employee development and engagement. To be successful in this role, you will contribute to business strategy and translate business priorities into a long term HR charter. You’ll help business leaders look around corners through data-driven innovative recommendations for new initiatives as well as iterating on current programs to improve team performance, retention and the employee experience. You will coordinate with other teams within HR/Amazon as well as spearhead and participate in cross-group and India-wide projects. You will be expected to play the role of a trusted advisor and collaborate extensively with global HR and business stakeholders. You will also have people management responsibilities with HRBP reportees.
As an HR professional, you must have the ability to diagnose issues, see patterns of problems as you dive deep, and recommend immediate and long term programmatic solutions. You will be called on to seamlessly collaborate across groups, influence all levels of the organization, and roll up your sleeves and engage on a hands-on basis. Your business acumen, executive coaching skills, communication skills, and planning/project management skills are key to success as is your ability to balance competing priorities
